The group, of remarkable compositional skill, depicts the Triumph of Bacchus and Ariadne: the couple, crowned with vine leaves, sit on a chariot with a perforated wheel featuring palmette motifs, pulled by two lions. Around them are a satyr intent on holding the wheel, a winged putto, and a procession of dancing female figures, rendered with a lively plastic imagination in the late Baroque style.

The base bears the crowned N mark, typical of the Capodimonte Manufactory.

Condition report: The glaze has widespread craquelure and minor chipping at the extremities of the figures. Some older restorations and repairs are noted. Good general state of preservation, consistent with the period.
