Art Deco Rosewood-veneered Sideboard – 1940
This Art Deco sideboard captivates at first glance with its silhouette and the harmony of its materials. The body of the piece, crafted from rosewood with vibrant, deeply graphic grain patterns, displays a play of natural movement reminiscent of the most refined designs of the 1940s. The doors, punctuated by undulating grain patterns, lend the piece a warm and sophisticated presence.
The design is deliberately minimalist: solid forms, a perfectly smooth front, understated yet elegant metal handles, and balanced proportions that anchor the piece in the modernist aesthetic of the era. Inside, two storage levels offer generous capacity. The shelf rests on adjustable rails for ideal height adjustment. The functional lock is accompanied by a minimalist key.
The black breccia marble top, enlivened by light veins and contrasting fragments, adds a luxurious, mineral-like dimension. Its polished surface catches the light and complements the warmth of the wood, creating a contrast typical of the Art Deco style: a blend of the natural and the precious, the geometric and the organic.
