Fernandez Arman (1928–2005) - Sculpture, Jazzy Jaguar - 66 Cm - Bronze, Metal - 2004

The sculpture is composed of an elegant patinated bronze panther, intertwined with a gilt-patinated saxophone element. The whole is mounted on a sober black base, giving the piece a strong architectural presence and a refined contemporary display quality.

The work is signed “Arman” and numbered 71/99, from an edition of only 99 examples.

Arman, born Armand Pierre Fernandez, was one of the major figures of the Nouveau Réalisme movement. His work is celebrated for its accumulations, cut-outs, decompositions and reassemblies of everyday objects, especially musical instruments, which became one of his most iconic subjects. In “Jazzy Jaguar”, the artist transforms the saxophone into a sculptural rhythm, visually echoing the movement and tension of the panther.

It is a collector’s piece suitable for a modern interior, art collection, music-themed collection or contemporary sculpture display.
