Red Mediterranean Coral Bracelet, 19th Century
An elegant bracelet made ofred Mediterranean coral, composed of carved coral elements assembled with hinges, featuring a metal bayonet clasp that is seamlessly integrated into the structure and designed to remain virtually invisible when worn. At the center is a female figure dressed in ancient style, framed by dynamic scrollwork and motifs adorned with fine coral beads.
The overall quality ofthe carving attests to the craftsmanship of the master coral carvers active in Naples and Sicily, renowned centers for coral cutting and carving.
The bracelet is in overall good condition, with the usual signs of wear and aging, a few fine natural cracks, and very slight chips (see photo for details) consistent with the nature of the material. The clasp remains functional, although the small safety push button that originally allowed it to open is missing.
Dimensions: length 16.5 x max. width 6.5 cm.
