Théodore Haviland Limoges Porcelain Dinner Service, With Gold Decoration And Monogram
Artist: Théodore Haviland
A beautiful Limoges porcelain dinner set from the Théodore Haviland factory, consisting of 24 dinner plates and 24 soup plates. Each piece features a highly elegant design, characterized by a scalloped wing accented by a wide gilded frieze with openwork motifs inspired by the Neoclassical style. This ornate border is accompanied by a delicate gold scatter pattern running along the inside of the wing. The design is completed by a finely interlaced gold monogram, custom-made for its first owner. The reverse side of the plates bears the mark of Théodore Haviland, Limoges, France, as well as the stamp of the Parisian retailer J. Godin, 5 rue de Paradis in Paris, a firm renowned for distributing high-quality porcelain and tableware in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The set is in beautiful overall condition, with the gilding still well-preserved and the decoration remaining fresh and luminous.
