Snuffbox carved from a Corozo core, Flanders, 18th century.
Decor featuring Cupid and a swan on the lid; the body is adorned with a frieze of flowers and acanthus leaves, and the underside features a four-leaf clover motif. The spout and hinge are made of solid silver (tested with a touchstone)
Period: 18th century.
Condition: as found, with a lovely patina; the hinge is damaged but still intact.
