Jewelry Component, Silver And Carnelian, Turkmen, Late 19th Century, Early 20th Century.
A beautiful piece of Turkmen jewelry, designed as a pendant, made of solid silver and carnelian. Nine solid silver pendants are also suspended on either side of the central plate. These pieces were frequently used to decorate horse tack during parades. Since then, these pieces have been dismantled and worn as women’s jewelry, in line with the growing Western interest in ethnic styles.
In perfect condition, with the original loop at the top of the piece.
