An elegant commemorative Jasperware porcelain cup from the prestigious English manufacturer Wedgwood, crafted in its iconic sky blue color.
The center is adorned with a white relief medallion depicting the coat of arms of York Minster, consisting of a shield surmounted by a crown and decorated with two crossed keys. This design is set within a finely sculpted rosette, while the rim is adorned with a delicate garland of foliage in white bisque, inspired by the neoclassical style characteristic of Wedgwood’s productions.
The reverse bears a commemorative inscription in gold lettering reading:
“York Minster – Completed 1472 – Restored 1972,”
along with a note specifying that this edition was commissioned by Mulberry Hall in York to celebrate the 500th anniversary of the completion of the famous English cathedral. The “Wedgwood Made in England” stamp is also present on the reverse.
