A work in which amateurs are taught how to work on the center-point lathe, the eyeglass lathe, the overhead lathe… how to engrave glass…eccentric machines, etc… Everything useful and pleasant, preceded by basic concepts on the knowledge of woods, carpentry, black smithing… and other arts related to wood turning.
2 volumes in 4-, full leather hardcover with title label:
-1 volume of text, 1816: 542 pages including the table of contents + 7 pages of appendix, printed by Gros and dated 1846. This volume contains the introduction, errata, table of chapters and sections, and table of contents.
-1 Atlas volume, 1816, comprising 2 tomes containing 96 plates, 39 +57, etched (including 9 hand-colored:wood species), several double-page and/orfold-out plates, plus 1 unnumbered plate.
Complete set in very good condition, with a few stains and signs of wear (binding, edges...).
Work formerly owned by Mr. E. Durand, a former officer of the french 9th Cuirassiers.
