Gilt brass hilt known as the "climbing lion" hilt.
Lion head pommel with a long tail.
Gruff covered in eight-turned sheepskin, inlaid with twisted brass wire.
Rounded knuckle guard with fluted edges along its entire length.
Openwork guard.
Shell depicting a lion with its head turned backward, brandishing the club of Hercules in its two forepaws, surmounted by a Phrygian cap; its left hind leg rests on a barrel beneath which two cannonballs are positioned; its right hind paw crushes the head of a winged, fire-breathing dragon, whose tail is coiled and ends in an arrowhead-shaped stinger. Montmorency-style blade, with a single cutting edge and a false edge.
