Translated as “beautiful face” or “perfect face,” the Kpeliyé'e mask is rich in detail and characterized by an oval face, half-closed eyes—symbolizing spiritual wisdom—a small, expressive mouth, two ears, a pair of “little legs” beneath them, and two incised protuberances at the top.
This mask refers to the initiation and funeral rituals of the Poro.
