Biedermeier-style Drop-front Secretary Desk In Cherry Wood, Saxony, Circa 1835
A Biedermeier-style drop-leaf desk, resting on square legs mounted on blocks and featuring three drawers in the lower section. Above is a sliding writing surface concealed by a quarter-cylinder drum. The interior features four drawers surrounding a central compartment. The upper section is completed by a wide drawer and a stepped superstructure. The writing desk is veneered in cherry wood and shows old traces of woodworm that have been treated.
