Large vase with a slender baluster shape, made of multilayer glass
Signed by the Daum Nancy factory (signature accompanied by the Cross of Lorraine)
Circa 1900
The body of the vase features a gradient ranging from emerald green to a frosted opaline tone, ending in a tinted translucent base.
The acid-etched cameo decoration depicts herons or migratory wading birds in flight over a pond. The birds are highlighted by black relief enamel work
The base of the vase is finely engraved with water lilies, lotus buds, and aquatic reeds accented with gold. Flowering vines climb up the sides of the vase to the neck, which is crowned by a circular ornamental frieze in the Neo-Renaissance style, alternating daisies and gold scrollwork.
