"Marquetry Commode – Louis XV Style"
Marquetry Commode – Louis XV Style. This Louis XV style commode, made in the 20th century, is veneered in precious woods and richly decorated with marquetry. It opens with two drawers, set within a central marquetry medallion featuring pastoral and musical motifs (instruments, flowers, and architecture), surrounded by contrasting reserves and stringing. The sides are also adorned with marquetry panels. The piece rests on cabriole legs and is embellished with decorative bronze mounts: corner mounts, sabots, a keyhole escutcheon, and an openwork gallery along the apron. The marquetry top features a central design. On display at Galerie Courcelles Antiquités, 97 rue de Courcelles, in the 17th arrondissement of Paris.
