Louis XV Period Mahogany Commode With Tomb-like Top, Bordeaux
A beautiful Louis XV period chest of drawers in solid mahogany, opening with four drawers in three rows and resting on four scrolled feet. The lower rails are shaped and molded, the front uprights are recessed. Original gilt bronze mounts including rosettes, drop handles, and keyhole escutcheons. The back panels are oak. Preservation restorations have been carried out, and the finish is waxed. A Bordeaux piece from the Louis XV period.
