Three Gilded Bronze Altar Crosses, 19th Century
Set of three finely chased gilded bronze altar crosses, dating from the 19th century.
Each features richly ornamented decoration inspired by the Neo-Gothic and Neo-Baroque styles, depicting Christ on the cross, kneeling cherubs in adoration, and abundant floral and religious motifs.
The turned bases, in various shapes, demonstrate high-quality casting and chiseling.
The gilding, still very luminous, highlights the delicacy of the sculpted details: rays of glory, volutes, foliage, cherubs, and liturgical ornaments.
These three crosses form a harmonious decorative ensemble that could be displayed in a collection of sacred art, on a private altar, or as decorative elements in a distinctive interior.
In very good condition with a beautiful patina from use.
