Vintage Neo-gothic Style Monstrance. Jeweled. Gilded Metal. 20th Century

Vintage Neo-Gothic monstrance made during the second half of the 20th century, with an especially attractive aesthetic and a composition of strong architectural inspiration clearly reminiscent of the façades and pinnacles of the great Gothic cathedrals. This is a highly decorative piece with great visual presence, conceived to stand out powerfully on the altar thanks to its vertical development, stylised forms and the uniform brilliance of its gilded finish. The monstrance immediately conveys a sensation of solemnity and ornamental richness, becoming especially striking during Eucharistic exposition.

The structure presents an elaborate Neo-Gothic development formed by spires, pinnacles, pointed arches and an upper cross finial, creating an elegant and highly recognisable silhouette within this style. It is made in gilded metal, with a bright and homogeneous finish preserved in very good overall condition. The central body houses the original luna, complete and fully functional, prepared for 5 cm hosts. The rear closure functions correctly, fits properly and allows completely safe and comfortable use.

Surrounding the luna appears a decorative ring with faceted iridescent effect crystals, reflecting different tones and flashes according to the light and providing a magnificent luminous focal point to the ensemble. This detail creates a particularly attractive visual contrast with the gilding of the structure and also helps visually enhance the Sacred Host during adoration.

The central area is flanked by three angel figures made in silvered metal, creating a very elegant contrast against the predominant golden tone of the piece. One of the figures is positioned in the upper section, inside a central niche crowned by pinnacles, while the other two appear on both sides of the luna, perfectly integrated into the architecture of the ensemble. These figures provide visual depth, ornamental balance and reinforce the devotional character of the monstrance.

The stem presents a large central knop decorated with vegetal and geometric reliefs inspired by Neo-Gothic art, also conceived to facilitate handling during liturgical use. Both the knop and the rest of the stem maintain decoration coherent with the upper section, providing aesthetic continuity throughout the piece.

The base is wide, stable and highly decorative. It presents a lobed configuration with different ornamental registers worked in relief, where vegetal motifs, scrolls and symmetrical compositions inspired by the classical Neo-Gothic repertoire appear. The decorative work provides volume and a sensation of visual richness without excessively overloading the piece, maintaining an elegant and highly balanced appearance.

The overall condition is very good. The gilding preserves a homogeneous and brilliant appearance, with minimal normal signs of use of no visual importance. No structural losses or deformations are observed, and all elements remain complete and firmly integrated. The luna maintains full functionality and the monstrance is completely ready for liturgical use from the very first moment.

Visually this is a monstrance with magnificent presence on the altar, one of those pieces that fills the space and immediately attracts attention during exposition of the Blessed Sacrament. The combination between Neo-Gothic architecture, the brilliance of the gilding, the silvered angels and the iridescent crystals creates an especially solemn and luminous effect. A highly decorative piece, complete and ready for liturgical use, with a Neo-Gothic aesthetic that continues to be greatly appreciated in parishes, chapels and Eucharistic adoration spaces.
