"venise, Church Of The Pietà " Raymond Allègre
Artist: Raymond Allègre
Raymond ALLEGRE was born in Marseille in 1857. He died there in 1933. A student of Antoine Vollon, Bonnat, and Jean-Paul Laurens, he exhibited at the Salon des Artistes Français between 1881 and 1932. He won a bronze medal at the 1900 World’s Fair. He was made a Knight of the Legion of Honor in 1903. A trip to Venice determined his artistic direction. He would never stop painting views of the City of the Doges, sometimes even from memory in his Parisian studio. Highly skilled, he proved capable of capturing the impression and spontaneity of a scene observed in real time. He also painted Provençal landscapes. Raymond Allègre is listed in the "Bénézit" as well as in the dictionary "Petits Maîtres de la peinture" by Gérald Schurr and Pierre Cabanne. The painting is highlighted by an imposing wooden frame with gold leaf stucco in the Louis XV style. The dimensions with the frame are 50.5 cm x 58.5 cm. The cost of packaging, shipping, and insurance via tracked Colissimo is €70 for France and €80 for the European Union. For the rest of the world, please contact me.
