Beveled Mirror With Pediment, Louis XV Style – Second Half Of The 19th Century
This superb pediment mirror in gilded wood and stucco, crafted in the Louis XV style, features a frame of great finesse adorned with an elegant frieze of pearls and floral garlands running around the entire perimeter. The lower section is distinguished by large stylized acanthus leaves, generously spread across the sides, whose deep modeling and warm gilding highlight the decorative richness of the whole.
The pediment, a true centerpiece, is organized around a majestic rocaille shell with asymmetrical volutes, emblematic of the Louis XV taste for fluid and natural forms. This shell is accompanied by delicate, finely carved floral garlands, which lend a touch of lightness and grace to the composition. In the lower section, each side is adorned with a large stylized acanthus leaf. The whole exudes a sense of harmony, movement, and refinement, typical of the Rococo aesthetic of the mid-18th century.
This mirror stands out for the quality of its gilding, the precision of its reliefs, and the balance of its silhouette, making it a highly elegant decorative piece capable of enhancing both classic and contemporary interiors.
