Two Travel Bottles Labeled “eau De Mélisse,” Made Of Cut Crystal And Solid Silver By Minerve
A set consisting of two elegant travel bottles, traditionally known as “Eau de Mélisse bottles,” made of cut crystal and solid silver hallmarked Minerve 950, France, circa 1900.
Although featuring two distinct designs, they perfectly illustrate the refinement of Belle Époque toiletries. One is adorned with straight-fluted crystal and a Louis XVI-inspired setting, while the other features twisted-fluted crystal paired with a Louis XV-style rocaille-decorated setting.
Intended to hold perfume, lemon balm water, or toilet water, these bottles were elegant and sought-after travel accessories.

Very good overall condition. Crystal free of chips or cracks. Beautiful patina on the silver. One of the bottles is complete with its inner glass stopper; the other is missing it.
