A Soliflore Bowl In Crystal And Green Marble, Late 19th Century
Exceptional Art Nouveau centerpiece, perfectly illustrating the refinement of decorative arts from the late 19th to early 20th century.
The upper section features an elegant trumpet-shaped soliflore vase in finely cut Baccarat crystal, with a delicately scalloped rim. The diamond and vertical fluted cutting enhances the purity and brilliance of the crystal, creating a particularly sophisticated play of light.
The mount, in finely chiseled and gilded bronze, displays stylized vegetal motifs characteristic of the Art Nouveau aesthetic. The scrolling forms and beaded details gracefully support the vase and attest to the high quality of craftsmanship.
At the center, a charming cherub in Sèvres biscuit porcelain enlivens the composition. The softness of the modeling and the matte whiteness of the biscuit provide a subtle contrast with the brilliance of the gilded bronze and the transparency of the crystal.
The circular base in Mer green marble is encircled by a beaded gilt-bronze gallery and rests on richly decorated scrolled feet. The foliate side handles complete the composition with balance and elegance.
