** The versatile and prolific Italian designer Lino Sabattiniis the creator of true masterpieces of cutlery and tableware. Although entirely self-taught, Lino Sabattini established a studio in Milan in 1955. He became more widely known thanks to the ties he forged with Gio Ponti, another great designer of the 20th century. In 1956, Lino Sabattini became design director at the prestigious Christofle silverware house, creating silver-plated designs for them until 1963, recognizable by their abstract organic forms that are always extremely elegant. In addition, Lino Sabattini also designed glassware and ceramics for Rosenthal, Nava, and Zani & Zani. In 1964, Lino Sabattini opened a studio in Bregnano, south of Como.
