Senufo miniature mask, Ivory Coast.
This mask is carved from wood and depicts a face wearing a tall headdress. Also known as "Passport Masks," they were used to welcome ancestral spirits. Their primary function was to protect the person wearing them. Beautiful glossy patina.

Condition: as found, surface damage, signs of wear, and a crack running from the forehead to the chin, damage to the ears.
