Three-drawer chest from central Italy, dating to the late 17th century. The structure is entirely made of solid walnut. The front features three drawers, faced with pre-burl walnut and characterized by geometric panels, defined by light-colored wood fillets, which create a chromatic contrast with the walnut grain. Each drawer is fitted with a bushing and two teardrop-shaped handles.
The front structure is flanked by fluted twisted columns that run along the front uprights and extend into the base, which is raised on shaped, openwork feet. The surface reflects the cabinetmaking techniques of the era, with a clear distinction between the solid construction of the sides and the refined decoration of the front.
