Mid-18th Century Louis XV Inlay Writing Desk
Refined carved solid walnut writing desk, embellished with walnut veneer and cherrywood inlays. The piece is in excellent condition, featuring a feather polish made with natural shellac. The writing desk is distinguished by its curved legs, typical of the period, and its five front drawers, ideal for storing objects, equipped with keys and locks in gilded bronze and lost-wax casting. At the back are five additional faux drawers. Further refinement is provided by the carvings in the solid wood on the legs and corners of the desk, featuring geometric motifs. Furthermore, the inlays on the front, sides, back, and top feature floral motifs and frames, enriching the entire structure. This is a writing desk of great taste and elegance, capable of adding a touch of class to any decor. Typical Venetian manufacture (northern Italy), from the Louis XV period, around the mid-18th century.
