Old Antique Hand-painted Porcelain Plate, James Green & Nephew, London, 19th Century.

Porcelain plate, decorated in the center with a hand-painted orchid rendered with botanical precision: delicately shaded petals, green foliage in soft tones, and a finely executed stem. The rim of the powder-pink plate is accented by a gold fillet and a frieze of hand-painted gold beads, typical of British productions from the second half of the 19th century.

On the reverse, the piece bears the stamped markJames Green & Nephew, Queen Victoria St., St Paul’s, attesting to its London manufacture for a refined clientele, dating to the period 1880–1895.
