Marcelliano Canciani (1873–1953) Italian painter active between the late 19th century and the first half of the 20th century. Originally from the Turin area, he devoted much of his work to Alpine landscapes, with a particular focus on the eastern regions. His painting is characterized by a direct, observational naturalism, devoid of rhetorical flourishes, and by an atmospheric rendering that favors clear, bright light and a meticulous depiction of mountain topography. He worked during a transitional period between late naturalism and early modern trends, yet maintained a traditional approach focused on the immediate perception of the landscape.Period: 20th century
