Bronze sculpture by Emile Laporte (Paris 1858-1907), a student of Dumont and Thomas, who debuted with the Société des Artistes Français and won a silver medal at the 1900 Universal Exhibition. This work is titled "Pro Patria" or sometimes "Gaul with his son" and also "Viking with his son." It has a beautiful patina and slight oxidation on the back of the base.
