In the late 1940s, Jacques Ruelland graduated from the École des Beaux Arts in Paris. In 1950, he and his wife Danielle travelled to Vallauris and developed a taste for working with ceramics. By the 1950s, they were creating a number of ceramic objects, including dishes, bowls, jugs and vases. Their creations are often brightly colored. Danielle imagines their shapes and Jacques paints their decor.
