Art-nouveau Willow Vase Gilded By Michel In Nancy, Era Daum Galle Legras
Artist: Ateliers Michel
Beautiful, large vase with willow decoration by Michel in Nancy.
Always enigmatic this signature that created vases of beautiful quazlity such as this one. Some believe it was produced by the successors of the workshop of the talented Parisian engraver Eugène Michel in 1904.
Fine enameled vase decorated with a large gilded willow tree contrasting with a grisaille background lacustrine decoration. Beautiful form on a pedestal with open neck.
36.5 cm high, signed "Michel nancy", the Michel signature with a cross from lrraine is perfect, suggesting that the glassmakers were trained at Gallé.
Great quality vase, rare signature.
