Large, Flat-bottomed Vase Made Of Enameled Glass In The Orientalist Style, Reminiscent Of The Work Of Auguste Jean émile Gallé Or M
Artist: A Déterminer
Large, flat-bottomed 19th-century Orientalist enameled glass vase in the style of Auguste Jean Émile Gallé or Moser
Superb flat-bottomed vase with a cylindrical neck on a pedestal, made of amethyst-colored blown glass with iridescent highlights, from the Art Nouveau period, circa 1880
Characteristic elements of the Neo-Persian Orientalist style:
Rich, hand-painted polychrome enamelwork accented with gold, depicting a central scarf with scrollwork and arabesques, bordered by braids and surrounded by stylized floral motifs—lotus flowers and irises
Traces of a hand-enameled signature and numbering on the base; artist to be determined
Height 19 cm, Width 11.5 cm
The two original side handles are missing—see photos
The enamel and gilding remain very well preserved with superb, vivid colors. No major chipping on the neck or the base.
A beautiful collector’s piece with its decorative appeal intact despite the damage
