Hand-painted 19th-century English Plate

An earthenware plate with a slightly undulating shape, adorned with hand-painted decoration.
In the center, a finely rendered bindweed flower, surrounded by an ornamental border in shades of cobalt blue and gold, characteristic of Victorian production.

Condition: no breaks, cracks, or restorations. However, it shows the typical signs of age found in majolica:                                                  – surface craquelure (a network of fine cracks in the glaze),                                                                                                                                                              – visible brown oxidation beneath the glaze, due to the natural aging of the materials.
