Table Service In English Earthenware, Late 19th Century, Bb Monogram Under Marquis Crown

Rare part of English earthenware table service, late 19th century, monogram BB under marquis crown, 57 pieces. Service made by Brown-Westhead Moore and co at the end of the 19th century, Hamburg model. Mr. Thomas C. Brown-Westhead, Moore & Co. was a porcelain and earthenware manufacturer in Cauldon Place, Stoke-upon-Trent in England from 1856. Pieces stamped on the reverse, with the factory stamp, name of the model and coat of arms of the order of the garter: “HONI BE HE WHO THINKS EVIL GOD IS MY RIGHT”. In fact, these coats of arms could only be registered or used by companies holding a Royal mandate. (sign of quality and a right of entry to the court.) Royal warrants were only granted to official supplier companies to the English court. In white and cobalt blue earthenware, it presents on the central part, two intertwined Bs under a marquis crown. Cobalt blue garland with geometric decoration on the edge, large crosspiece in imitation of a trellis from which open flowers emerge. It consists of: 24 dinner plates (diameter: 25 cm). 18 dessert plates (diameter: 22.8 cm). 1 flat round dish (diameter: 27.5 cm) 1 salad bowl (diameter: 24 cm) 1 hollow bowl (diameter: 20 cm). 2 covered vegetable dishes (diameter: 22 cm) 2 oval dishes (32.5 cm by 26 cm) 1 oval dish (38 cm by 31 cm) 1 oval dish (44 cm by 35.5 cm) 1 sauce boat on heel (diameter: 12 cm). 1 water pitcher (height: 17 cm). A centerpiece with 4 elements that can be assembled (diameter of the whole: 30 cm) Beautiful overall condition, the colors are fresh. Note: a few slight stains on certain pieces, 2 hairs on the back of 2 dinner plates, a small shock on the edge of an oval dish but superb condition of the whole given the age!!! Superb monogram and sobriety of the decor.
