Three Tabulae Anatomicae Engravings From 1552
Artist: Bartoldo Eustachi
I don't know why, these anatomical observations, drawn by the famous painter and architect Pierre de Cordotone ( Pietro Berrettini)in Italy in 1552, were not published in Tabulae Anatomicae until 150 years later??? in 1741 by Bartoldo Eustachi.
The detailed studies of myology, unlike those of Vesalius, were renowned for their technical precision.
A comical detail on observation: the engraving TAB IV shows that the amputated man is still holding his flayed arm with his hand .... Three écorchés, dating from the early 20th century, are in perfect condition.
