Biography:
Pierre Neveu was born in Paris on July 10, 1929, and died on December 12, 2025. He lived and worked in Saint-Gratien. His artistic studies took him from the École Boulle to the École nationale supérieure des Beaux-Arts de Paris, in Maurice Brianchon's studio. In 1953, Pierre Neveu began his career as a drawing teacher for the City of Paris. In 1960, he was seconded to CREDIF (Centre de recherche et d'étude pour la diffusion du français) at the École normale supérieure in Saint-Cloud, where he was in charge of producing images for audiovisual methods (French/foreign languages).
An internationally recognized figurative painter, Pierre Neveu was awarded an honorary medal by the Salon des Artistes Français in 2007. He exhibits frequently, both in France and the United States, where he has met with great success, particularly with his luminous, colorful and skilfully constructed landscapes. A discreet, faithful and attentive man, deeply attached to Saint-Gratien, he gave a great deal without ever putting himself forward. We won't forget that special light in his paintings - that incomparable "Pierre Neveu blue" that gave his works their brilliance.
