Exceptional length of Venetian velvet in pure silk, woven in a single piece and featuring a sumptuous design in cut velvet woven over a patterned silk ground.

The motif, inspired by the Baroque tradition, closely recalls certain designs preserved in the textile archives of the Museo Correr in Venice. The various deep and luminous shades of blue create a play of shadows and highlights that gives the pattern a genuine three‑dimensional effect, further enhancing the virtuosity of the craftsmanship.

The velvet shows an impressive pile density, a clear indicator of top‑level workmanship.

The ground is made of white satin silk with pale yellow reflections, precisely the natural hue of silk when still in the cocoon, before being reeled and bleached.
