Daubière or chaponnière or faisandière in bronze, late 17th century, early 18th century, oval, tripod shape, crowned/crenellated lid. This utensil was designed to be placed directly in the hearth, in contact with the embers, and the lid could be covered with embers due to the crenellations.
7 crenellations missing, feet sawn off in the past and handle covered with sheet metal due to breakage.
