Born in Angers in 1932, Jean-Jacques Deschamps trained at the École des Beaux-Arts in Angers and then at the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris in the Brianchon studio. He received the Prix Anna Maire and then the MGM Prize, and exhibited at the major Parisian Salons — the Salon d'Automne and the Salon des Indépendants. One of his works was acquired by the City of Paris. He is also the author of numerous stained glass window designs.
Large figurative composition on the theme of maternity: two entwined figures in a palette of blues, greys and ochres, with a bouquet of yellow touches in the background. Impressive format. Presented in a fine gilt moulded frame. Very good condition.
