Mottled Mahogany Desk With Flap, Stamped Daubet & Dumarest, 19th Century
Secretaire à abattant en acajou moucheté, estampillé Daubet & Dumarest, époque XIXe siècle
Elegant secretary with flap in speckled mahogany veneer, opening with a flap revealing a compartmentalized interior, embellished with small drawers and a central niche. The ensemble rests on a three-drawer chest of drawers at the front, highlighted by sober, refined moldings.
The upper part is topped by a gallery with framed mirror, capped by a moving pediment adorned with an elegant small turned vase, bringing a beautiful verticality to the ensemble.
Very fine work in flame mahogany veneer forming symmetrical patterns, notably on the flap and drawers, testifying to quality craftsmanship.
The piece bears an interior stamp: Daubet & Dumarest, ébénistes brevetés in Lyon, proof of careful 19th-century production.
Beautiful original patina, harmonious and decorative ensemble, ideal for a classic or eclectic interior.
