Mahogany And Veneer Scriban Cabinet Forming A Secretary With Flap
Scriban chest of drawers with flap, in solid wood and veneer.
opening at the front with two leaves at the bottom and a flap revealing a writing space.
The front is adorned with molded panels with scalloped decoration, surmounted by a concealed drawer at the waist, embellished with a diamond pattern in relief. The slightly protruding jambs and plinth base underline the sturdiness and balance of the whole.
The flap opens onto an interior fitted out in light wood, comprising three drawers and a central niche. It reveals a black leather-covered writing surface (antique, showing signs of use), offering a beautiful work surface. The fittings, hinges and keyhole are original.
Nice warm patina, rich shades of wood and decorative veining particularly visible on the panels.
French workmanship, 19th century period, in the spirit of fine harbor or regional furniture.
