Pair Of Perfume Bottles Le Creusot Baccarat Bronze Restoration 19th Century
Pair of diamond-cut crystal perfume bottles, almost certainly the work of theby the Cristallerie du Creusot* in Montcenis, ring in finely chasedfinely chased gilt bronze, Restoration period circa 1820-183019th century.
These flasks are in good overall condition and of very fine quality. They have their crystal stoppers.
Please note: a few small accidents and chips on the stoppers (cf. red arrows), micro-chips on the crystal (on the tips),dirt on the inside and wear from the passage of time, see photos.
Cristallerie du Creus*Cristallerie du Creusot:
In 1787, the King's Council of State decided to transfer the Manufacture from Sèvres to Montcenis. Built to plansby Barthélémy Jeanson, the buildings house workshops, officesand workers' quarters, as well as the furnaces,installed in two conical halls. Until it was bought out in 1832 by theby the Saint-Louis and Baccarat establishments, the crystal great influence. Eugène Schneider, who had become manager of the forges andand workshops of Le Creusot, bought the buildings of the formeras his residence. The Château de la Verrerie, a MonumentMonument Historique, is owned by the town of Le Creusot.
