Carlo Hollesch (Pula 1926 – Venice 1978).
After completing his classical studies in Venice, he devoted himself to painting as a self-taught artist. He participated in numerous national exhibitions, including the Venice Biennales of 1950 and 1954 and several Rome Quadriennales, receiving widespread critical acclaim. He held several solo exhibitions in major Italian cities. Giuseppe Marchiori praised his consistency, his personal style, his use of color, and his artistic exploration, which initially led him toward a metaphysical genre with a fairy-tale tone and, in his later years, caused him to move away from traditional figuration toward the disintegration of the image.
