The whole art of ancient Persian weaving is brought together in this flamboyant little treasure.
Khorjins are bags once used by the nomadic peoples of Persia. They are often double saddlebags. The central field is a garden guarded by 16 visible ecru-colored dragons, natural wool.
There are also ram's horn motifs evoking power and fertility.
The borders contain a series of stylized birds protecting the garden, creating an impenetrable protective barrier.
The fastening system on the upper part is intact, it is woven. The front is knotted-stitch with a short velvet. The back is woven.
