Charming Louis XVI-style terminal clock, made during the Second Empire, around the second half of the XIXᵉ century, in a delightfully romantic spirit inspired by the XVIIIᵉ century.

This elegant little gilt bronze clock rests on a white marble base adorned with fine garlands and rich decorative trim. The enamelled dial, delicately decorated with flowers, is signed by the watchmaker Chevallier in Fontenay-le-Comte, testifying to the meticulous production of quality provincial watchmaking.

The decoration is animated by an animated, floral dial, which is signed by the watchmaker Chevallier in Fontenay-le-Comte.

The decoration is enlivened by a charming gilded bronze Cupid, leaning against the bollard, in a posture full of grace and lightness. Note the absence of his bow, a detail that is transparently pointed out, without detracting from the overall elegance of the set.

The gilding on this bollard is of the highest quality.

The original gilding is preserved with its beautiful old patina; slight wear is visible on the upper part, bringing to this piece all the authentic charm of objects that have stood the test of time.

The clock is in perfect condition, with all its original elements:
- original glasses,
- original key,
- complete and authentic movement.
the mechanism has been overhauled and works perfectly.

A seductive decorative clock, refined and poetic, ideal in a classic, romantic or eclectic interior, evoking with finesse the Louis XVI taste revisited under Napoleon II
