Antique Chinese Porcelain Soup Plate, Lake Décor, Late 19th Century
Antique Chinese porcelain soup plate with lake décor late 19th
A creation of Chinese porcelain craftsmanship, this soup plate comes from China in the late 19th century during the Qing Dynasty.
The whole of this plate is glazed with the exception of its base revealing its raw nature, the whole being carefully hand-painted with fine & detailed strokes to offer the porcelain-loving eye a lacustrine decoration typical of landscape scenes in China in shaded blue tones and enhanced with a subtle red.
Although beautiful, this plate can be used as a presentation dish in an Asian art lover's tableware, or can remain entirely decorative, for collecting, flat on a table or on a handsome display on a dedicated shelf or chest of drawers.
