Beautiful Empire Chandelier With Caryatids In Gilded Bronze And Patinated Sheet Metal
Beautiful 10-light Empire gilt bronze and patinated sheet metal Caryatid chandelier. Each of the 3 Caryatids holds 2 lights at arm's length. They are interspersed by 3 eagle heads holding in their beaks a corolla with a light. A 10th light protected by a frosted glass tulip forming a flame surmounts the whole. Three bronze chains link the pot to a gilded bronze crown of palmettes, whose underside is adorned with a rosette supported by a pinecone. The lower part of the pot is decorated with magnificent openwork ormolu palmettes in appliqué surrounding a rosette finished with an artichoke head. Electrification redone to model with new wiring.
