The breech block is engraved ‘Mle 1822 Tbis’. The left side is marked ‘17.6 N’ and ‘C’ (indicating it has been brought up to 17.7 calibre). It also bears the hallmarks ‘D’ within a circle and ‘A’ beneath the number, and ‘M’ with the serial number 191, whilst the ramrod is numbered 142.
