Etoile-model Shotgun Cane From The St-etienne Arms & Bicycles Manufactory France -xix°
Artist: Manufacture D'armes Et Cycle De St-etienne - France
Etoile-model shotgun cane from the St. Etienne Arms and Bicycles Manufactory in France, with a removable stock in 12 mm carbine caliber.
The Etoile cane was used for walking, self-defense, and as a rifle (for poaching).
Brown horn handle, metal shaft plated with mahogany and leather, brass ring.
Cartridge percussion system via extraction using the hook attached to the removable ferrule and release of the firing pin by a simple thumb action.
Ring-percussion mechanism, for 12 mm carbine-type cartridges.
This cane comes with the optional detachable skeleton shoulder stock.
The ferrule, complete with its cartridge extractor and firing pin cocking mechanism (see photos), is present.
The barrel is mirror-polished.
The metal ring on the screw-on section is engraved.
The mechanism is in perfect working order; the ferrule fits securely at the muzzle end without any issues, and the screw-on mounting system for the skeleton stock is in perfect condition.
This gun, over 120 years old, is in excellent condition and has certainly been used very little, if at all.
Total length with stock: 122 cm
Length of the cane alone: 91.5 cm
Length of the barrel without the ferrule: 76.5 cm
Total weight with stock: 845 grs
In excellent condition and well-preserved, with its original finish and patina; see the photos for details
