Plum Pot -
Old green blown glass plum jar, with its original cork stopper and beautiful lithographed label "Prunes Allary - Mussidan (Dordogne)".
These large jars were used in the late XIXᵉ and early XXᵉ centuries to preserve and display plums in brandy or candied fruit in grocery stores, distilleries and food shops.
The richly illustrated antique advertising label lends great charm to this piece and testifies to the expertise of French regional distilling houses. The words "Usine à vapeur" recall the industrial boom of this period and the development of large-scale artisanal production.
