R. or - Red edges - Handwritten bookplate on title: "Garcia del Rio", handwritten bookplate on 1st white endpaper: "Max Radiguet", then on 2nd endpaper this text signed by Breton artist and traveler Max Radiguet: "This volume, which has become very rare, was given to me in Lima, in 1843 by : Don Garcia del Rio, former minister of Bolivia" - Enriched with 2 original drawings signed by Radiguet, one in Indian ink and pencil, enhanced in color, the other in ink (on loose leaf), as well as 1 etching signed and dated 1848 - Unique copy.
Maximilien René Radiguet, known as Max Radiguet, born in Landerneau on January 17, 1816, and died in Brest on January 7, 1899, was a French traveler, novelist (society writer), poet, and illustrator. He was also secretary to Admiral Dupetit-Thouars.
